I found myself deeply involved in what feels like a loop, similar to past discussions about Ryzen CPUs. High CPU activity from tools like CAM polling the processor is now happening again. I purchased the NZXT Kraken z63, which looked good but was mainly chosen for its cooling performance. Unfortunately, it’s continuously checking the CPU, leading to higher usage than usual. I reached out to Kraken to see if they offered ways to slow down this polling—perhaps through registry tweaks not included in the software. To my surprise, the response matched what I expected. I searched for alternatives, especially open-source options, but all references pointed to the Z-series, not the X-series. Then I discovered another source of extra load: LEDKeeper2.exe, which consistently uses about 5% CPU. Closing it via Task Manager actually lowers my CPU readings by 4–8 degrees. When I force it closed, it restarts within about 20 minutes. It seems to turn off when audio plays and comes back on later, so I suspect it’s automatically managing itself. This leaves me with a dilemma: any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered just deleting CAM and testing without it? I own an X73 and didn’t install it, even though my temps hit 60°C during full load while gaming at 40°C. The setup from the box still looks okay.

I haven’t fully removed CAM yet. However, if CAM isn’t installed, does that mean the Kraken runs continuously at maximum speed? I haven’t taken that approach since I thought it wouldn’t adjust RPMs based on temperature.

It doesn't seem to be moving quickly, and if it is, it's still quite loud.

I'm going to give it a shot. By now I've handled everything else. The LCD display isn't worth the extra heat, or else it would undermine the whole idea of using a water cooler for better performance. Kraken clearly didn't fully consider their software.

I initially planned to purchase just the Z73 for the display, but I learned about some problems with the software. So I decided I’d skip it for now and focus on something else that works.

The concerns about the screen were accurate. The program mainly uses the CPU, not the GPU. With proper cooling, performance is excellent. Removing LEDKeeper2 would lower idle temperatures to around 30-31°C, which is great. Rendering speeds stay between 60-70 depending on CPU load. Using LEDKeeper raises those temps by about 5 to 10 degrees.
