idle times don't really matter much—they depend more on your overall setup and fan configuration than precise measurements. My 5800x running at 40°C because I wasn't motivated to adjust the fan curve for my case fans; back then it was about 50% idle. Regarding load temperatures, they seem okay.

Hello, I see you're revisiting an old discussion. I'm using a similar rig (9950X3D with NH-D15 G2 LBC) and sticking to stock configurations—around 50°C idle, 80°C load. Even though reviews claim these are standard temps, I suspect it's a bit too hot. I adjusted the Curve Optimizer to -25 and tweaked PBO, PPT to 170W, TDC to 120A, EDC to 180A. On workload, it's now around 70°C. Performance dropped slightly from ~200W to ~150W. In Cinebench, stock gave 41,478 points; after changes, I'm seeing 40,774. I'm not sure if these numbers are optimal, but it seems like a small improvement without major loss.

Don't let anyone say Ryzen overheats or runs at high voltage. A 50°C idle with the best air cooler works fine. Mid-30s idle during load, varies based on what's running. 95°C at around 300W.

It mainly comes down to the room temperature. At around 20°C outside, I think 50 is quite high. Here, during midday, my room stays in the low 30s, which isn't uncommon for higher temperatures compared to others.

Hey, I’d feel like a big fat polar bear all the time, but I’m not one either. At work they keep the temperature above 75°F, and if I could just wear some underwear, I’d be fine. Now that it’s cooler outside, they turn up the heat. To be honest, most of the people I work with aren’t from here, so I get it a bit. It really hurts.
