I recently constructed my initial system and invested around 3k in the entire build. I've attached a screenshot of all the components I purchased and assembled. My setup uses a Ryzen 9 7900x processor paired with an ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F motherboard. I have 64 gigabytes of 6000mhz RAM. Everything functions smoothly, but I'm puzzled by the delay—sometimes it takes 30 seconds, occasionally up to 45 seconds for a post. I notice this happens when my keyboard lights up. According to some sources, enabling XMP settings is the culprit, yet even after turning it off, the delay persists. I'm curious if anyone here has insights on this issue. I also updated the board's BIOS recently. Also, all four RAM slots are fully utilized, with four 16-gig modules installed.
You're clarifying the situation and planning your next steps. It seems you're investigating potential causes for delays, possibly related to system performance or boot times. You're considering testing solutions and sharing findings with others who might face similar issues. Your frustration about the slow boot times is understandable, especially given the price you're paying for a system that still lags behind older models.
Adjust the DRAM Timing Control settings and scroll down to locate the Memory Context Restore option. Turning on mcr greatly reduced my wait time!
I’m running on a 7700x - 32GB DDR5 system and a 4080 processor. It’s barely using power when idle, so staying off might be better than shutting it down completely. You could try putting it to sleep instead of turning it off each time.
