Hello everyone, I'm facing a puzzling situation. It began after an error in Warzone, which caused my CPU temperatures to spike. I've read that the Ryzen 5950x shouldn't exceed 90 degrees under stress, but even simple tasks like browsing push it into the high 80s. My current configuration is: motherboard ASUS X570-E, BIOS version 4602 (03/14/2023), default settings enabled. CPU is an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, cooling from LianLi Galahand 360 AIO, RAM is G. Skill 3600 (64 GB). GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, running Windows 11 22H2. Power supply is Seasonic FOCUS GW-850 850W (80+ Gold). After a fresh Windows 11 install, I've cleaned dust from the case, reapplied thermal paste, and checked fan wiring—all fans are operational. Through HWMonitor, the pump RPM is stable at 3300, so it seems fine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm running out of options.
They seem a bit high for the max voltages, do you have PBO enabled? If yes, disable it and check if temperatures drop. When things get hot, inspect the top of your pump block—does it feel warm or hot too? If not, it likely isn’t creating proper contact for any reason. Make sure to reposition it and verify if cooling is sufficient. If the pump isn’t moving any liquid, it may not be suitable for your chip—there could be no liquid, a bubble blocking flow, or another issue.
You checked the pump's top and it feels warm but not too hot. You turned off some BIOS features like PBO Max Enhancer Prevision Boost and Overdrive. After browsing briefly, the results suggest you should either switch to a different cooler or contact LianLi for help.
I’d contact Lian Li, adjust the cooler again, and apply fresh thermal paste to check for improvement.
Does it display identical temperatures after using Ryzen Master? HWMonitor may occasionally give incorrect or off readings for chips in the 5000 and 7000 series. A solid alternative is HWInfo if Ryzen Master isn't suitable. Ultimately, the best solution for heat issues is to inspect, replace, or upgrade the cooler. No other part typically generates extra heat beyond that (though overclocking might affect things), but most x570 boards comfortably handle a 5950X at stock settings.
Thanks for the idea. I tried reseating the cooler and reapplying thermal paste, but it didn’t help. Same outcome. I’m contacting Lian Li to get their thoughts on the issue. I might replace the cooler and would appreciate any suggestions you have. Some users mention the Liquid Freezer 360 by Artic online.
I'm using an Arctic Esports 34 duo with my 5900X. The temperature stays around 70-75°C and it idles at 30°C. I'm really satisfied with the performance. According to what I've learned, the liquid freezer is one of the top AIOs available.
I'm facing the same issue with my 5950x, but it's not a major problem. When I browse, I get high 60s to low 70s. I'm thinking about upgrading to an AMD Ryzen 5 or getting a Ryzen 9 360 from a 280.
