the only updates in the bios are fan speeds for better airflow, a memory clock of 4000 MHz, and the FCLK set to 1800 MHz with auto mode enabled. That’s all I modified. For me, 70°C should come after a CPU-intensive game where the loop gets hot, but it shouldn’t exceed 50% CPU usage in my view.

Yes, there seems to be an issue with your CPU. Your presentation is running at over 50% utilization even when idle, which shouldn't be the case. It looks like something is consuming your processor in a subtle manner. Have you made any updates to your BIOS to ensure optimal Ryzen performance? Also, what type of motherboard are you using?

Your CPU should have PBO enabled in the BIOS for the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Bios. I can't verify your setup directly, but some users have reported problems with this setting. The difference between CCD1 and CCD2 being 10-20 or more could indicate a faulty die, though this isn't widely documented.

My chip runs at a lower voltage and has slight overclocking, which affects its performance. You can adjust these settings in the BIOS. If your BIOS hasn’t been updated yet, that might be contributing to the problem. Also, if you haven’t installed the correct chipset drivers for Windows, it could be a factor. I’d check all settings before assuming the hardware is faulty. My motherboard came with a suitable BIOS, but the following one had significant changes that reduced my temperatures and improved CPU efficiency.

I will try that as soon as i get home. The chipset driver in windows is just through Windows Update right? Bios should be easy with the motherboard i have and i know there is a newer version from 2 weeks ago.

Checked the AMD support page for X570. Ensure your board matches and avoid using Windows Update for drivers. Stick to the Balanced power plan for optimal performance.
