I just got a new R9 3900x and it's overheating a lot. Idle temps are around 80°C. Anyone know why? I followed all the steps and used just a bit more thermal paste. The issue was that I didn’t switch the latch on the default CPU cooler.
Clarify the details: confirm if the cooler is correctly fastened and/or repositioned, define what you mean by "just a bit more than needed" thermal paste. Specify the cooler model, case type, current airflow situation, and your surrounding temperatures.
I'm using the standard cooler from AMD. I haven't adjusted any settings yet. I'll attempt to reattach it.
