Ryzen 7700x paired with two 16GB RAM modules at 6000MHz, model CL36 — system fails to power on.
In the title I mentioned a 7700x with two 16GB DDR5 sticks rated for up to 6000MHz and CL36. When attempting to run it at 5200MHz I face severe memory problems. I've tested various voltages, speeds, and manually adjusted frequency/latency, but stability remains an issue above the 4800MHz base clock. AMD claims the 7700x can handle 5200 MHz. Any suggestions? Parts: CPU – Ryzen 7700x, RAM – CMK32GX5M2D6000C36, Motherboard – Gigabyte Aorus x670 Elite AX Cooler is sufficient for heat dissipation, and PSU is reliable.
Ensure you're in slots 2 and 4. Avoid using XMP, just skip it. Input the memory frequency, timing sequence (tCL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS), and voltage (aim for 1.35V). Experiment with SOC voltage too. I’d cap it around 1.4V max, though 1.25V works well for most CPUs running DDR5 6000. Play around with IMC voltage values between 1.1V and 1.45V. Consider using an older BIOS—there might be issues with the AGESA version you’re using. Try BIOS F7 or F6 to test.
Nothing functioned properly, so I returned the item and replaced it with an ASUS Prime X670E motherboard. I also swapped the RAM for the QVL version. Now the system is stable. The key factor here is the CPU. I’m planning to return the hardware and hold off on troubleshooting until the platform improves, hoping more problems will be fixed. Otherwise, I fear I’ll waste more time fixing minor issues instead of using my machine. It’s regrettable that AMD released something so flawed. I’ve always liked AMD, but this is just too much.
