I observed some inconsistent temperatures recently after installing a new cooler, which didn’t stabilize my system. Using HWiNFO, I checked more details and confirmed idle CPU core voltage hovering between 1.275-1.5 volts. Could you share more specifications about your setup?

This model runs smoothly thanks to its strong idle power settings. It enters sleep quickly and wakes up promptly when needed, using minimal voltage even while idle. Background tasks can easily trigger wake-ups, and adjusting the power curve won’t significantly improve performance.

Understood, so you're not concerned about the idle time. Your main concern is the elevated temperatures—Overwatch launched to 80°C and stayed there for a while after the title screen.

In typical background applications like Chrome, Discord, or YouTube they hover in the 40-60°C range, possibly a bit warmer based on room temperature. Under load, temperatures usually sit between 70 and 90°C depending on the specific chip, cooling setup, and workload. What you're observing is quite typical for a 5800X.

Based on the hwinfo max freq data, the turbo reaches only up to 4.85ghz. I recommend using a fixed 1.35-1.4v cpu voltage core with medium or no LLC settings. Adjusting the voltages to 4.7-4.8 on all cores should boost multicore performance since all cores run at 4.7/4.8ghz instead of the lower stock levels (around 4.4 or less). This should make idle times much more stable with minimal temperature or voltage fluctuations.
