I own a B450 Aorus pro with WiFi rev.1 and a R7 3800xt. I pushed it to 4.4 or 4.5 GHZ all the way, but couldn’t find a steady voltage since the BIOS only adds up to 0.3v. When I switched to auto, it would freeze in BIOS when saving or exiting.
I wouldn't have landed on that 3800XT. Maybe you should avoid a manual clock speed and experiment with various PBO settings to boost performance. Usually, a 4.4 GHz falls in the optimal range for these CPUs, around 1.325-1.375 GHz. If flashing the BIOS doesn't fix issues or causes crashes, try updating it again.
You dont need a 3090 at all. Im curious how much you paid for a 3800xt if it was on sale. 3900x around here go for 370-400. Also how is a 3900x out of your budget, but a 3090 isnt? You didnt really upgrade much if im honest with you. You didnt really reduce the "bottleneck" with performance, if you are to believe the new CPUS Rumored performance, they will simply be a much better option then what you got, but you probably wont be able to buy them for a while. If you Game at 1440p/2160p you wont really notice a difference, but if you are a 1080p gamer then there is a slight difference between the best ones at what you got.

Right now they lag behind Intel by about 10-20% in performance compared to the 10900k/10700k at 1080p. At higher resolutions like 1440p and 2160p, the gap is minimal except for some games. I’d suggest considering a return on the 3800XT and hold off until the Ryzen 500 series arrives. Check the reviews to see what fits your needs best—they’ll likely be better suited.
This model offers a solid upgrade over the 3600 for 1080p performance and also helps with video work. It avoids the imbalance you mentioned with the 3080.
