Considering a switch from the Ryzen 3600 but wanting to stay with your ASUS TUF B450 motherboard. You're weighing between the Ryzen 7 3700X and the Ryzen 9 3900X. Your current setup includes a 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3600 at 3600MHz, a 650W PSU, an RTX 2070 Super with 8GB RAM, a 500GB+ SSD, and three monitors at 144Hz and 240Hz.

Upgrade for fun? Not really. Upgrade for efficiency? That's the goal.

these changes won’t affect gameplay. Plan for January when the 5000 series CPUs become compatible with the B450 board, then move to a 5600X.

It makes no sense to upgrade now; wait until the 5th generation is available again before choosing.

Redundant change. The NVENC encoder is already running on the GPU for streaming, and your setup can handle it—upgrading isn't necessary.

Currently, the 5th generation series isn't compatible with your system, so you likely won't need a new motherboard at this time.

it wouldn't be necessary, the BIOS for the 5th generation was expected to arrive in January 2021, but that board seems quite unreliable based on what I recall, and I wouldn't exceed its 5800x rating.
