Ryzen 7 2700X with MSI B450M MORTAR MAX faces issues where the motherboard displays a CPU red light.
The Ryzen 7 2700 X arrived from warranty with a 4-month-old, brand-new MSI B450 MORTAR MAX motherboard. RAM is 16GB Corsair LXG, and the GPU is an 1650 Super. The issue started during assembly—motherboard displayed a red light error, indicated by four LEDs on the board, but no display issues were present. Using the same setup on an ASUS A320M motherboard worked perfectly. I sent it to warranty, and after a few days the board arrived. When I tried it again, the red light stayed on and there was no display output. There seems to be a problem with the BIOS or possibly a manufacturing defect. If it's a BIOS issue, could you share the appropriate file so I can assist further?
Try flashing the bios. If it doesn't work after that, I would return and get another motherboard. Here is the link to MSI support, which includes information on the BIOS. https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-MORTAR-MAX/support
