Ryzen 5950X performance metrics include temperature and voltage data.
Hello there. I switched to AMD as my primary system a while ago after working with Intel. Here are my current specs and what seems to be the problem. Hardware: - CPU: Ryzen 5950X - Cooler: Corsair H150i Elite Capellix (3x120mm) - MB: Aorus X570 Xtreme rev 1.1 - RAM: Trident Z Royal Gold 128GB, 32x4 (3866mhz) - Performance: Corsair AX1200i BIOS - Latest f33c version (tried updates from f30 to f33c, tested with different BIOS versions) - Auto Boost - Xmp nerfed to 3866 4x32gb (if auto boost is enabled, RAM speed can't exceed 3866) - 3866 remains fully stable after overnight tests and memory checks. No issues detected so far. I've experimented with various settings. - PBO: OFF - SVG/Virtualization: ON (because of VM) - Cooling: Quiet mode sometimes on/off, same pattern. To sum up, I'm worried about the Auto Boost feature when everything is set to auto. Temperatures hover around low 40s at 4.3GHz idle and under load, maxing out at 60°C. When using auto boost, idle temps reach 49-53°C and stress temps hit 68°C on AIDA64. CPU usage during AIDA64 stays below 4.4GHz with stable temps (68/69). I suspect voltage fluctuations are causing instability. I've attached Cinebench r23 results (I'm about 40% satisfied). It runs at 3.8GHz multicore test with full load and 65°C, but performance drops significantly under stress. PBO is off due to heat. If anyone has tips or knows the temperatures you're experiencing, please share. I'm considering a replacement but am unsure. Thanks for your help!
Updated note summarizing the discussion. PBO turned on, Cool n Quiet disabled, Auto Boost enabled. Cinebench results match those when clocked at 4.3GHz with 1.1V. Idle temps range from 50°C to 86°C depending on settings. Scores hover around 27k. Everything seems stable under these conditions.
current configurations require excessive current, consider applying curve optimizer or setting a negative voltage offset of 0.05v or 0.1v
Hello guys. I have UPDATE on this. So I ruled out everything and got myself a new 5950X CPU (returned that one in question to seller for RMA). The temps are not varying very much and I put aged noctua paste (waiting on grizzly to come very soon). Voltage is properly distributed now unlike before with original poor quality CPU throwing around excess voltage ALWAYS. Now, idle it puts itself to 1.1V and temps are lower as well. So basically my cinebench r23 Score pretty much beat all the reported speeds I could find on the internet for reviews and results. Please note, I am not using PBO, I only use AUTO out of the box which my motherboard setup itself. I do not have anything else increased. I am quite sure I can even increase the score by enabling turbo and stuff and enabling PBO. My Cinebech R23 score is: Multithread Score: 30705 Single Core Score: 1954 I am quite pleased with this CPU since I had opportunity to choose between dozen of few and I gone for better silicone grade one.
