I own a Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen 2A with a Ryzen 5 5650U inside. The default power consumption is 25W, but it was cooling well at 65°C with fans spinning at 60% speed. I considered boosting the TDP to hit the target frequency using Ryzen Control and AATU while running AMD Upgrade. After adjusting the TDP to 35W, the system briefly reached that level during benchmarking. It then dropped back to 25W within a couple seconds. The HWinfo displayed the change, but it seems the hardware is actually responding correctly—it matches the new setting. My guess is related to the BIOS; the OS is Windows 11, which can behave oddly sometimes. If you try changing the TDP again after a short delay or with a live monitor, you might see it stay at 35W before settling back down. Your observation about the reset seems accurate.
