Ryzen 5 5600G
Ryzen 5 5600G
The GPU section of the chip is dedicated solely to GPU tasks, you cannot use them for CPU purposes.
Did you purchase a ready-made unit or did you select your own parts? The 5600G doesn’t fit well with a 6600 XT. You’re missing the integrated GPU and giving up performance for features you don’t require. The 5600G’s CPU speed is about the same as a 3600, whereas a 5600X would have offered better results. Additionally, the 5600G supports PCIe 3.0 while the 6600XT uses PCIe 4.0x8, restricting your GPU bandwidth and potentially affecting performance in certain games.
It was a prebuilt using cyber power, a gift from my wife. Haha, maybe I should consider swapping the APU for something improved later?
I would. A 5600X would be better and would support PCIe 4.0 for the GPU slot at least on B550. You can probably recoup most if not all of the cost flipping the 5600G, anyways. There's value in having an integrated GPU for budget builds that don't need a dedicated graphics card, so it's not that it's a bad chip. It just makes no sense in your system.
