You're unsure about the best choice right now. The Ryzen 5 3600 is around $200 cheaper than the Intel i7 10700F, but opinions vary. Your brother's comparison isn't helpful—both brands have strengths. It depends on your needs: performance, budget, and what you plan to use it for. Consider testing both if possible, or check recent reviews to see which fits better.

The 10700F isn't a typical Intel option. What are you trying to achieve with this setup? What's your budget, and in which currency? Are you starting from scratch or just enhancing an existing platform?

What's your workload? For gaming, go with either a 10600k or a 3600. I wouldn't choose a locked Intel chip. If you already have an AM4 board, opt for the 3600.

PCPartPicker list includes various components priced across different retailers. A 3600 CPU AMD Ryzen 5 is available for $286 on Newegg Australia. The MSI B550-A ATX motherboard costs $227.70 at the same site. Corsair offers a 16 GB DDR4-3600 memory pack for $101.96. Kingston provides a 1 TB M.2 NVME drive for $159.00. A Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card is listed at $623.04, while a 275R Corsair case is priced at $129.00. The Power Supply Super Flower Gold model is offered for $159.00. PCCaseGear displays all prices with shipping and tax details. Overall total comes to $1685.70. Upcoming releases may include next-gen CPUs and GPUs, such as Nvidia’s Ampere series, which could arrive later this month. If immediate setup isn’t necessary, waiting might be a smart choice.

You don't necessarily need an HDD; it depends on your needs and system requirements.

This card could replace the previous one depending on compatibility.

It could function, but it performs even more poorly than the RX5700XT.
