Ryzen 5 3600 OC at 4.3ghz running 1.25 volts
Hello everyone, I just upgraded to a Ryzen 5 3600 build with an Asrock B450 motherboard and 16GB (two 8GB) DDR4 3200MHz RAM. I’ve boosted my CPU to 4.3 GHz at 1.25 volts, with idle speeds around 35°C and Cinebench R20 scores between 70-75°C under full load. Is this an acceptable overclock? Could I push it a bit higher? Also, I’m using a Black Edition 212 EVO and get about a 3850 score. Any advice would be great!
4.3 GHz running at 1.25V sounds solid. If you're willing to push it, I'd test how stable you can get at 1.25V—perhaps reaching 4.4 or 4.5 GHz? Raising the voltage to 1.3V could offer extra margin, though you might see temperatures climb into the 85°C+ zone, especially with that CPU cooler.
i've already attempted to reach 4.4ghz at 1.25 volts but it failed. i haven't tried 1.3 volts yet, but i might push it up to 4.4 or 4.5ghz if possible. i'm planning to get a 360mm rad aio next week, hoping it could lower my temps by 10-20 degrees. i'm still getting comfortable with overclocking.
It won't drop that much, but I think you'll notice varied heat efficiency.
Idle at 35° with 5 fans in the case works. At 43° I hit 4.1ghz and 1.25v. The Ryzen cooler is not great. Also, how did you get 3k in Cinebench? You reach 1588 at 4.325 GHz.
