Ryzen 5 3500x
Hey there! It's great to hear you're getting started with overclocking. Your setup looks solid—Ryzen 5 3500X on an X570 board with a decent river 5 cooler. The fact that you're hitting 68°C tops is promising, especially considering the heat management. Many beginners find this range manageable and a good starting point. Keep experimenting, but stay mindful of stability and thermal limits. What do you think about pushing it a bit higher next?
That’s quite a lot of vCore boost for an extra 100MHz. It’s suggested to keep the voltage at 1.35v max on those chips. I’ve tested 1.39375 on the first-gen Ryzen and had no problems. Anything above 1.4vCore isn’t ideal for me unless it’s just a quick benchmark run. EDIT – I own a River 5 on my 3600, which is a solid cooler and performs well.
The temperatures play a role, yet managing high voltage is relatively straightforward—particularly when using fewer cores—but voltage loss can occur independently.
Ok, well being that it's running awesome like this. Is there any reason I can't run like this until I run into problems and then change to a better cpu at that point? That may be a stupid question. Please dont be afraid to say so....
