Hey, you're planning to set up a solid gaming PC with a good balance of performance and value. You're considering the Ryzen 5 3500 or the i3-10100f, both around the same price. I'll give you an unbiased take on which one might perform better over time. With your budget of about $450 and based in India, it's important to focus on reliability and future-proofing. The Ryzen 5 3500 offers strong multi-core performance and is widely supported, while the i3-10100f provides solid mid-range power at a lower price point. Given your needs for smooth gaming in the next few years, the Ryzen could edge out slightly if you prioritize newer architecture and better thermal management. However, both will likely hold up well depending on how you use them.

The Ryzen 5 3500 could have six cores versus the 10100f’s four cores with eight threads, yet its real performance edges slightly more. Pairing it with a 1050-Ti might not change much. Choose any motherboard you prefer and that offers better value overall.

I’m leaning toward the Ryzen because it’s unlocked and lets me fully utilize my RAM, whereas the i3 is capped at 2666Mhz. I’ll compare prices at nearby stores and hope to secure the Ryzen. Thanks!
