You're increasing the pixel count, utilizing his display and aligning the resolution so both of you achieve noticeable improvement.

Also @Beowulff83, do you think it's worth getting a 144hz monitor for your needs? I mainly play Fortnite and my FPS stays between 120 to 144, though it sometimes drops to 90 or 80—just occasional cases.

If you adjust your setup to 1280x1024, you'll be able to match the FPS with your friends.

It really depends on how much you enjoy playing Fortnite and whether you can afford to spend money on it.

I can buy it, but I need to check if my PC isn’t underperforming so I don’t end up wasting money later. I’m concerned that my setup might not be handling things as well as others with similar builds, which seems unusual.

Ensure the comparison matches in terms of resolution, graphics options, and any overclocking.

Absolutely, indeed. Running at higher settings usually gives almost the same FPS with the same resolution, but with R5 2600 it might actually make a noticeable difference since Fortnite is heavily GPU-dependent. I plan to use Afterburner to check if the issue lies with the CPU or GPU.

So I figured that playing in competitive mode made my GPU usage around 50%, which isn't great, but all epic made it nearly 100% and my frames were 100+ sometimes, dropping to 90. I know people using competitive settings have higher card usage, so their frames are much better, but I’m not sure how to increase my GPU usage in those settings.
