Ryzen 5 2600x with 1050 ti
I was thinking about how my friend got a new PC with a Ryzen 5 2600X, a 1050 Ti, and 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz. He’s playing games on an old 1280x1024 monitor and surprisingly, his FPS is almost the same or better than mine when I use the same settings in Fortnite. I wanted to find out if it was because of the resolution he’s using or if my PC is actually lagging now. I know I might be overreacting, but I’m always concerned about my performance.
I think it's best to just purchase an RX 580 and stop there. It's more affordable and offers better performance for the money. The same speed should be quicker too.
You have a bit of Bottleneck with that Ryzen 5. With a 1050ti, you're actually quite good and not really facing a bottleneck. Using boost on the CPU would make things run faster. You should be able to play at 1080p medium settings without AA and maintain around 60fps consistently, though it depends on the game. For 1204 resolution, the 1050ti will perform well.
Medium is fine, I can handle high settings at over 100 fps even with my bottleneck.
what kind of monitor do you have? if you use a higher resolution one, that's why your fps stays similar. the more detailed you play at, the more it tests your system, and it also appears sharper. disregard any talk about a bottleneck.
The 1050 ti represents the minimum performance anyone would expect from a gaming GPU. Although FPS might improve slightly, other adjustments such as higher graphical detail or better resolution could account for the similar results. To clearly observe the difference, perform an exact comparison by matching settings and measuring FPS.
