Ryzen 5 2600 and a 2070 Super showing micro stutters in GTAV
Hi everyone, I just upgraded from a XFX RX 590 Fatboy to a Gefore RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC 3x and have noticed stutters in GTAV. I think it might be related to the 600 watt power supply I had before, and I’ve ordered a new RM850x in the hopes it fixes it. If that doesn’t work, does anyone else know why I’m still seeing these issues?
Turn off one of them and check if the micro stutter disappears. An update to Windows 10 is expected soon, which should finally resolve the issue of having multiple monitors enabled and causing microstutter in games. I also experience the same problem when my TV is connected.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Could you share the specifications of the older PSU and its age? Also, did you use DDU to remove your GPU drivers before installing the RTX2070 Super?
My previous PSU was an EVGA 600B, roughly two years old. I uninstalled my drivers using DDU after installing the new GPU. After putting in all the drivers for the new card, I still couldn’t get it to work, so I cleared both the GPU drivers (covering AMD and Nvidia since my old card was AMD) and the CPU drivers, then reinstalled the latest ones. This helped somewhat, but stutters remain and performance issues persist in some games.
2x8gb memory at 3000MHz, also featuring Team TForce Nighthawk RGB RAM.
