Ryzen 5 1600 paired with ASRock AB350M PRO4
Hey everyone! I checked my motherboard choices and found the option to randomize the clock frequency of my CPU. I adjusted it from 3.2 to 3.6 and now my task manager shows the CPU is running at 3.6 GHz. Is there anything incorrect here? Should I revert it right away or tweak other settings too? I just want to avoid any damage to my PC. Thanks!
I increased my CPU speed by several hundred Mhz using the preset configuration. It seems likely this was a default option. With that setting active, the system should handle it without issues if cooling and power are sufficient. However, if you maintain this setting, I recommend performing stress tests to ensure stability after the changes.
You increased your CPU's clock speed to several hundred MHz using the preset you set. It seems likely it was a default option. With this setting, as long as cooling and power are sufficient, there shouldn't be any issues. However, if you maintain this configuration, I recommend performing some stress tests to ensure your system remains stable.
The temperature is comfortably warm, though it should be considered a maximum. Outside of stress tests, CPUs usually don't reach full capacity unless you really strain the system. With a good quality power supply, you're likely okay. Still, using a preset might have increased the voltage slightly beyond what's necessary. This is done to ensure stability and safety. On the other hand, this can lead to higher temperatures.
It might be better to handle things manually. I have mine at 3.7ghz, and my voltage was around 1.275. However, my temperatures seem to have been in the 70s when I remember, but during gaming I don't usually reach the 60s.
