Not sure how credible this is but this just seems a little too soon. https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-4000-seri...-confirms/ I hope these will run on b450 motherboards but im not holding my breath.

They initially pledged backing for AM4 through 2020. They fulfilled that promise. A new socket or chipset is expected soon.

Anything before July/end of Q2 is still "early 2020" it's not much of a stretch, Ryzen 4000 is just an optimized Ryzen 3000 pretty much.Unless they mean, they're only launching the Ryzen 4000 APUs. They have to start working on a new socket and all of that soon after for AM4+/AM5.

They might be misunderstanding her words. The announcement mentioned launching next-gen mobile devices with 7nm chips in January. The existing 3X00 Mobile chips are still built on 12nm Zen+ technology. Introducing the Zen2 architecture to mobile chips represents a major advancement, aligning with the upcoming Ryzen 3000 release.

The statement from CEO Lisa Su carries strong weight. She doesn't give exact dates, but it suggests Zen 3 will arrive next year, with mobile Ryzen 4000 CPUs coming before the desktop Zen 3 chips.
