Ryzen 3900x isn't improving performance
For gaming, it might help to disable certain features but I'm not sure. I suggest running a benchmark to check for improvements before re-enabling them. Many modern real-world programs use SMT for performance.
You shouldn't turn it off. Disabling it requires a restart, and while there may be minor improvements in certain games, the effort involved makes it not worth the trouble.
You should consider starting because trying to assist with unfamiliar matters doesn’t lead to positive outcomes. This isn’t about being dismissive; it’s simply not beneficial for anyone involved.
SMT only boosts performance per core slightly while reducing temperatures marginally. Disabling HT on Intel yields bigger improvements in performance per core since its behavior differs from AMD's SMT. (In short) It also helps lower temperatures effectively.
I don't believe the stock cooler can handle extreme overclocking. You might want something more powerful. Also, I just learned your MOBO is from the 300 series—you may need a different one. It seems you should use a solid board for the R9 CPU; a 300 series chipset likely isn't sufficient.
