Check for A6-9xx or A8-9xx models if available. Be mindful there are variations like X4-9xx with different sockets—such as X4-970 which supports AM3 and AM4. Consider asking the store to update the BIOS or borrow from someone who has it.

Thanks for the list. I might attempt to purchase one of them at the cheapest option available, especially if needed. I always try to contact any store where I plan to buy the board to check about the BIOS update. It would be helpful to know if this program works in local shops as well.

OP has the board and the cpu and he is telling you is fine. Yet you tell him it's not. If you don't have this board and cpu you should not say such things. There is a tier list and a ryzen 3000 with a 4 board tier list. There are youtube videos that shows that a 3900x can run on a b350 board. The x370 is the same or better.

The latest Ryzen components deliver significantly better power efficiency compared to earlier models. For instance, my thermal design power jumps to 130W-150W based on workload, and my X370-F runs smoothly without any problems. I’m keen for the community to push older boards to their limits and discover their true capabilities. The main reason I considered switching to Ryzen a couple of years ago was to eventually upgrade to a top-tier Zen 3 chip next year and fully utilize the platform.

Thanks for your input. I appreciate the board and the upcoming processor update. Right now, compatibility for the 3900x remains confirmed. For my needs—moderate gaming and video editing—I don’t anticipate heavy strain on all cores beyond 10 minutes under demanding tasks. Regarding core boost, enabling it seems a better choice than sticking with a fixed 4.0 OC. As for the previous processor, was it the 2700x? I’ve heard mixed opinions about the day-to-night differences in forums.
