I recently installed a Ryzen 3800x setup and wanted some guidance. I downloaded Cupid HWMonitor to check the performance but feel unsure about the readings. I’m not sure if these numbers are normal or cause concern, so I reached out to the community for opinions.

At idle, the processor runs smoothly:
- Core #0: 4541 MHz
- Core #1: 4541 MHz
- Core #2: 4466 MHz
- Core #3: 4466 MHz
- Core #4: 4441 MHz
- Core #5: 4491 MHz
- Core #6: 4441 MHz
- Core #7: 4491 MHz

Voltage readings are also stable:
- CPU VCore: 1.128 V (min) to 1.464 V (max)
- Per core voltage max: ~1.500 V
- Per core VDD (Node 0): 1.081 V to 1.500 V
- Sustained voltages during stress tests hover around 1.313–1.344 V per core

Temperatures are within expected ranges:
- Package temp (Node 0) at idle: 35–45°C
- CPU-Z stress test peaks: 74°C after AIO saturation
- Gaming sessions (Borderlands 3, Mechwarrior 5): max around 55–60°C

Personally, I’m a bit puzzled about the Ryzen 3000 series. Normally, anything above 1.5V would be concerning, but these spikes are short and not consistently high. With temperatures staying under 74°C even at full load, I don’t see major issues. Also, since my temps rarely exceed 74°C in real play, I think it’s safe.

I’m also curious if this setup could be a good pick for me because of the stock configuration and the fact that I have two cores with boost up to 4541MHz. That seems rare compared to what I’ve seen. What are your thoughts? Are there any hidden factors I should watch for?

Looks quite sensible. Considering the speeds, it's a very well-binned chip, so I was expecting these outcomes for single-core boost and similar scenarios.

Consider using HWiNFO instead of HWMonitor; however, even then the readings differ from Ryzen Master, making it suitable mainly for extended thermal tracking. Voltages around 1.5V are acceptable for ST load conditions, such as near idle.

HWMonitor seems to attract many users because it offers a stripped-down version of HWinfo with fewer features, yet HWinfo itself remains free. The voltage readings are typical for third-generation Ryzen processors, staying below 1.4V when only one or two cores are active, then dropping rapidly as more cores engage.
