You're seeing those high temperatures because your Ryzen 3800X is pushing its limits under stress. It's not unusual for this chip to hit 80°C+ during demanding games or when running intensive benchmarks. The spikes you mentioned are common in high-performance builds. As for Be Quiet! Dark Rock 4, opinions vary—some love the gameplay and graphics, while others find it a bit repetitive. If you're considering it, make sure your cooling setup can handle the heat.

Absolutely not unless you accidentally overvolted it and opened the side panel while operating. It might help if temperatures stabilize, but I don’t think it’s worth it unless you’re okay with D15. Have you looked into Chromax add-ons for this model? Or are you already using something else?

D-15 works well with a 3800x setup, but Cinebench can cause your CPU to overheat. Running the fan at maximum speed all the time is recommended if you don’t mind the noise. I’d suggest getting an AIO cooler since it stabilizes temperature faster. A 240mm AIO should handle the job effectively.

It looks like you're concerned about performance. What specific issue are you facing? Please share your case details and current temperature. Consider running without the side panel to see if it improves things. Is this your first build or a new one? You might want to remount the cooler. The 3800x setting seems too high, and the 3600 causes too much voltage at auto settings—lowering core voltage could help. It really did make a big difference for my temps.

Are you using stock stock or modifying BIOS/OC settings? My friend has Dark Rock 4 while I have D15, and we maintain identical temperatures on the same CPU (though our CPUs aren't identical). This could be a sign of mismatched configurations—consider reviewing your settings or verifying heatsink installation and thermal paste application.

I possess the 3800X paired with an ND D15 unit inside a Silverstone Fortress 2. When executing FAH, temperatures can reach as high as 80°C in a room near 77°F (25°C), which fully loads all cores and pushes the 2080 GPU to its maximum. With a 4.4Ghz OC across all cores, game temps stay around 73°C or lower. Since I'm using Linux, I can't run Cinebench directly, haven't used a VM or WINE. When the system isn't overclocked, temperatures usually drop about 4-5°C. If they start rising, it's likely due to insufficient airflow, high CPU voltage, or needing new thermal paste.

Your 3900x setup with the Fractal Design Celsius S36 is operating at 87.5°C under full load, which appears to be within acceptable limits.

I'm experiencing unusually high temperatures on my 3900xt with NH-D15, even at full load. The temps aren't staying below 80°C, which is definitely outside normal range. Possible issues could be poor airflow, a loose cooler, excess thermal paste, or incorrect fan orientation. Could you share what the room temperature is like indoors?
