Hey there, I've been using my 3700x for a few months now. Like many, I noticed the voltages were really high. I've checked various sources and watched some YouTube videos on the subject. People have mixed opinions—some suggest lowering the voltage and setting the clock to a stable value for better temperatures without affecting performance. I've also heard that benchmark tests can be misleading after adjusting the voltage, as they might not accurately reflect real-world conditions. Right now, I'm running my 3700x (x570 ASUS TUF gaming + WiFi) at 1.325 Vcore with all cores at 4.4MHz. My temperatures are low—around 38-46°C when idle with a few open tabs. Under aida 78C, I saw spikes up to 85°C for a brief time. My Cinebench scores have improved after tweaking the voltage and setting all cores to 4.4MHz. Well, it could work. Keeping the static 1.325 VCore might maintain higher voltages than normal, particularly when not actively measuring. If temperatures have fallen and you're reaching 4.4 OC, then it's fine to keep it that way as long as things stay steady. It won't reach the extreme failure point.
Hi, thank you for reaching out. I understand this might have been a bit confusing. I used 3800x and applied a 4.4Ghz overclock with PBO turned off and auto voltage enabled in BIOS. After switching back to Windows, when I ran CBR20, Ryzen Master showed 1.099V, CPU-Z reported 1.512V on vcore, and HwInfo64 displayed 1.099V during load. The temperatures varied—HwInfo64 logged a max of 88°C while Ryzen Master recorded around 96°C. I’m not sure which tool is most reliable. The overclock worked well, and I even played a bit of BF5 for about 30 minutes before switching back to the default optimized BIOS settings. My motherboard is an x570 Carbon WiFi with the latest beta BIOS that includes the new AGESA Combo V2. Thanks for your feedback!
My temperatures are the highest ever recorded. I ran AIDA64 for 11 hours and reached a peak of 82°C using those configurations. Some folks claim the voltage readings are off because the motherboard doesn’t deliver the exact value you set. I’ve been using Ryzen Master for everything, and everything looks normal so far. I’ll stick with it for now and refine this later.
