Hey everyone, here are some thoughts on CPU options for your needs. Since you're planning for heavy streaming and gaming, the XT is coming soon, but you're building now. I was thinking about getting the 3900X, but I realized my purchase expired the next day. My main options are the 3700X or possibly the 3800X. The 3700X is around $274 right now, which seems like a good deal. What do you think? I want to make sure I can stream and game smoothly with an EVGA 2080 Super XC Ultra. Thanks for your help!

Sure thing, buddy. I expect around 10-20 extra frames per second with the 3900x setup. It should work fine at first—just stick to 1080 resolution until the monitor gets upgraded. I’m just trying to avoid any hiccups when streaming, and this looks like a solid plan for later upgrades.

Gaming remains consistent in both versions, but offers a superior performance boost at 3700X due to enhanced multi-core capabilities.

This setup offers ample power—perfect for gaming and streaming without hitting near-maximum CPU usage.

Thanks a lot! I hope I could have taken advantage of the 10% discount on the other day. Everything was fine, just a bit better with a little savings.

I noticed the i5-10600K delivered impressive frame rates for roughly $20 more. It might not be the ideal pick if you're focused on streaming or gaming, since it isn't optimized for those uses alone.

3700x is an excellent CPU I recently purchased for gaming and streaming on a single PC. It outperforms my previous i7 7700k, especially during intense sessions. I managed smooth 1440p gaming at 60fps while streaming 1080p at 60fps without any issues. A microcenter clerk advised me not to overclock, which I ignored and saw significant performance jumps in Cinebench tests. The base speed is around 4.3Ghz with a 1.3V boost—definitely worth considering. While I can't comment on the i5, I think it should suffice for gaming, though its clock speeds hit 10.9GHz when overclocked. Reviewers have confirmed these results.

Thanks for the response. I believe the 3700x is a solid pick, especially since you can enjoy 1440p streaming alongside it. How are you managing frame rates during gameplay? Also, could you share your GPU model if you're comfortable?

I'm running all games at maximum/ultra levels (currently the Resident Evil 2 remake). I keep turn shadows low since they're the most demanding in every title. My frame rate exceeds 100+ FPS on my 1070 Ti, which is also boosted, possibly aiding performance.
