The Ryzen 7 5800X3D offers the strongest performance for 1440p-4K gaming when paired with a high-end GPU like the RTX 4080 or similar. It provides better CPU power compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D in this configuration, making it a solid upgrade option over the 5800X3D alone.

1440p at 5600x offers better performance compared to 4k. The gap narrows at higher resolutions, so it mainly depends on your budget. If you can afford it, 5600x delivers noticeable speed; otherwise, 3600 should suffice for both 1440p and 4k.

Certainly the 5600X or higher, just because they reach such impressive speeds... especially with the IPC gains. My first AM4 chip is a 3600XT since I couldn't afford a 5000 unit, and it matched the price of a standard 3600. It seems only slightly superior to a regular 3600. A few hundred MHz plus a minor boost in FCLK speed. My machine can handle 1900 without issue, but 1933 isn’t an option. I likely would have chosen Intel had I realized how long it would take to secure a CPU. Not very impressed, but what options exist? Still, the platform really delivers. It runs smoothly from an operational view. Only occasional issues appear near parameter limits. AMD has made significant progress since my last experience with them on the 939.
