I'm trying to figure out how well a fast 3600 processor performs at high speeds after I turned it up. Right now, my CPU runs on 1.325 volts and gets 4.4 gigahertz while keeping power low. Since the process has been working smoothly without crashing for two hours, my temperatures stay under 73 degrees Celsius. The Cinebench test gave me a multi-thread score of 3930 and a single-thread score of 510. Is this enough to justify upgrading from stock settings?
Well, that means it's not working well. As I thought, your temperatures are higher than they were at the start because you never stress tested properly. If you were playing games and this happened, then either the game would crash or the PC might shut down. For your maximum temperature, when overclocking, we should keep it below 80 degrees Celsius and adjust the speed and voltage to get under that mark. With Prime95, if you didn't stop the test early enough, the temps could have gone even higher, up to 86 degrees Celsius. It's very possible that the real temperature is actually above 86 degrees Celsius. So, maybe start by lowering all core overclocking speed down to 4.2 and run Prime95 again. For a first check, you can run Prime95 for about an hour; if no workers have stopped yet, things are going in the right direction.
Hey there, Well, if you're posting about OCs right now and it's set to 4.4 GHz on all cores, that's pretty good. You could post some screenshots showing the CPU-Z numbers with the clock speeds or HWMonitor data. But being stable is a different story altogether. Zen 2 (R3600) usually hits around 4.2GHz max, so it's often better to let PBO do its job there. There isn't much room for overclocking anymore with Zen 2. What are you stressing the CPU with? I find it hard to believe getting under 73 degrees or lower at 4.4 GHz. You should be using Prime95 small FFTs to push your heat up to a maximum level, which will help you see where your temps actually are. Maybe you have some AIO coolers and lots of case fans? But, for stress testing that seems low to me.
