I understand the 3500 is available only in the Asian market, essentially a lower-tier 3600 model without hyperthreading, yet it's being offered at extremely cheap prices. I've observed listings under $100 in India.

This would improve my preference for both 3300X and 3600 models. The 3500X offers 6 cores and 6 threads, while the 3300X provides 4 cores and 8 threads. The 3600 delivers 6 cores and 12 threads. Taking into account that the 3300X excels in single-core performance and supports more threads for certain applications, it seems a stronger pick overall. The 3600 certainly has more cores and threads than the 3500X, making it a solid alternative. I’m still leaning toward AMD systems since affordable boards can support high-end CPUs, though an i5 10400(F) works well too; it’s comparable to the 3600 in terms of performance. Running RAM above 2666Mhz on a more expensive board would be necessary, but the benefit lies in having a cooler that fits the existing setup.

The 3500x and other high-core-count CPUs without SMTC (Super Multi-Threading) are also facing challenges. Many games run smoothly at full capacity, but they can stutter when tasks demand immediate CPU attention. I wouldn't recommend buying such a CPU right now because it seems to be becoming outdated quickly in several titles. Consider this: if a new game launches on PS5 or Xbox Series X in January, it will likely utilize many cores. A 6-core processor would struggle to keep up, especially when games need full utilization compared to a 12-thread machine. You'll end up facing the same issues as with your 7600k, which is becoming obsolete within months. My goal is to help you avoid making a poor choice that leads to problems soon after purchase.

At 1080p the frame rate will increase, which could make CPU usage slightly higher rather than easier. Despite using an i5 8400 for gaming, I haven’t noticed any impact from missing hyperthreading. In theory it should help, but I don’t see it and I play at 1080p 144hz. The cost difference is worth considering—saving a bit now might pay off with the better performance of the 3600 model in the long term. I wouldn’t expect much satisfaction with the 3500x either.

Likely to secure the 3600 mainly because I spend a lot of time playing Tarkov, especially during intense big gunfights where it's very demanding on my CPU.
