Hey everyone, I own a Ryzen 3300X in a B450I Aorus Pro Wi-Fi mini PC. During stress tests like Linpack Extreme, Prime95, or Cinebench, the temperature spikes to 95°C in under half a minute. That’s unrealistic with the Wraith Stealth and Arctic MX-4 thermal paste I’ve used. I’ve checked several monitoring tools—Ryzen Master, HWINfo64, CPUID HWmonitor—and they all confirm it’s a Bad CPU. Should this processor still function?

It seems unclear. Could you clarify the situation? What model is it, and what setup do you have? Did you attempt to adjust fan curves? What temperatures are recorded during gameplay versus normal idle? Yes, the CPU appears to be functioning properly.

I noticed low mounting force but using a standard mount makes installation straightforward. Have you considered replacing the cooler’s seal?

Thanks for the prompt responses. The unit is in a Mastercase H100 with one 20cm fan. I don’t play games with it—I built it for resale. Just tested Cinebench R23, which returned a score of 6428, which seems reasonable (Cinebench R23 Benchmark Scores [2022] reports 6876). I’ve installed coolers over 100 times. A Wraith Stealth setup isn’t feasible.

I realize you've likely installed many coolers, but did you attempt to reinstall this one in particular? It's normal for mistakes to happen, even with the most careful work.

I took apart the system and the cooler worked perfectly. I tested it using my loudest Wraith Stealth, which lets me detect speed changes. On a B450 Pro Max motherboard with the CPU, Linpack stays under 70°C. On the B450I Aorus Pro, the CPU reaches up to 95°C in open air with the same cooling setup.

I swapped the Ryzen 3300X for a Ryzen 2600, which performed well at 50°C during Linpack. This setup doesn’t seem ideal with the Ryzen 3300X. The BIOS version is F51 from July 2020.
