Hi, I just set up my first PC today—previously a long-time laptop user. My Ryzen 3 3300X is acting oddly, overheating when I browse the web, and the fan speed and tachometer in the afterburner keep showing 0. I’m using the cooler that came with the Ryzen, but I’m not sure what’s causing this issue or how to fix it. I haven’t tested it while gaming yet.

They shared images showing the RTX 2060's temperatures during heavy use. The 3300X model is experiencing higher heat under load, which is causing unusual behavior.

You can easily notice the "CPU temperature" label above it. The unusual part is how its temperature changes when there’s nothing being done.

Don't rely on CPU temperatures alone. Use hwinfo64 or Ryzen Master for accurate insights. Idle temperatures aren't important as long as load temps stay within range.

It indicates CPU temperatures, but reliability depends on usage and conditions.

Displays the exact phrase "CPU Temperature" prominently nearby. Below shows CPU utilization, while GPU temperatures remain low.

consider using tools like hwinfo to monitor temperatures. The temperature changes seem consistent with the CPU's aggressive performance characteristics. Adjust the fan curve in the BIOS if the speed fluctuates significantly.

Refer to hwinfo64 or Ryzen Master for temperature tracking—they provide the most precise readings. Keep the BIOS updated and verify the information. Updated June 12, 2020 by TofuHaroto

Taking the actual temperatures into account, you might want to reinsert the CPU and inspect the thermal paste. Also, think about increasing the fan speed slightly.

haven't found any issues to address. Load temperatures during looping tests in Cinebench or Prime95 usually don't reveal much. Idle temperatures generally aren't useful for diagnosis.
