I’m expecting a gradual system upgrade. Being on a budget means swapping the I5-4670k for an R3 3300X, and I’m wondering if it would cause any issues with my current GTX 970. Also, I’m thinking about purchasing another GPU soon.

You could opt for an older i5 processor and upgrade the GPU separately. While a 3300x offers more power, a 970 chip won’t make a noticeable impact.

The GTX 970 remains a solid choice. Issues shouldn't arise.

I'm looking forward to purchasing a new GPU soon, but I'm experiencing performance issues in most games because my CPU is slow and causing stutters.

Consider adding extra RAM for the R5 3600 as well, especially with a Ryzen 3000 or a 3600mhz CPU like CL16. You might want to look up buildzoid for more details. If you're mainly gaming at 1080p, a GPU could be optional.

It seems the issue isn't with your CPU, and delaying the purchase of new cards makes sense while they're being released. Prices for Ryzen 5K are expected to drop soon.

1080P gaming on that setup? The 3300X doesn’t really shine in that category, especially with a 4670K core count. 1080P should work fine with something like a 2060 or 70. I’d actually start with the GPU—it’ll handle rendering much better.

I've been dealing with stuttering in Squad even though the GPU is fully utilized and can maintain over 90fps. It's improving as the GPU gets updated, but for now I need a CPU upgrade to resolve the stutters in recent titles.
