Good morning! You're considering a small PC build for your daughter with 1080p gaming and YouTube use. You're weighing the 3200G against the 3100. The 3100 supports hyper-threading but costs more, while the 3200G is pricier but older tech. Since you don’t plan to use the built-in graphics, you might skip them unless your RX570 struggles. Which option do you think fits best?

They both have similar pricing. The 3100 offers a noticeable upgrade and would be a better choice unless the price gap is minimal, in which case the 3100 is the way to go.

The price gap is 20 pounds, so I’m leaning toward the 3100. The hyperthreading should improve performance.

Beyond just hyper-threading, it offers superior IPC, IMAC, FPU and cache design. The performance improvement is significant.

The RX 570 remains a powerful GPU, works well with a 3100. For US buyers, consider a Micro Center promotion. They sell Ryzen 5 3600 chips for $155, open box at $120, and an extra $20 off when you get a matching motherboard. This means you could obtain a much quicker 3600 for around $135 or $100.

Got it, I understand you're in the UK now. Just need the 3100.
