I understand the issue with latency, but I'm not doing any heavy writing or reading. I think the problem will improve over time, especially after two years. I mostly play games and use basic visual basic (school projects), so it should work fine for now.
It seems you're questioning the value proposition here. SSDs typically handle 4 threads compared to 8, yet gaming is increasingly favoring more threads. Lower frame rates will become more common, leading to more instances where your game drops below a smooth performance level. The price tag of $20 feels disproportionately high relative to the benefits.
