I’d receive a 3300X, it’s a bit pricier but offers a solid performance increase for the cost.

I completely understand, though the point I made was about 3100. If someone is targeting the 2200g level, I think they likely have a budget of roughly $80 to $100, and that extra $20 really adds up.

Considering a Ryzen 3 3100, or if it's not feasible, the 1600AF might be a better option. The 2200G seems too expensive for the year 2020.
