Ryzen 2700X operating at 120°C idle temperature
I own a Ryzen 7 2700X with a stock cooler and the original case (Rosewill ZIRCON I). According to Speccy, it’s operating at a solid 120°C without throttling much. The wraith prism is spinning at high RPM (around 3k), and the air near the exhaust fan feels barely warm. The safe temperature for this CPU is about 85°C, which makes me quite concerned. Anyone know what’s happening? EDIT: CoreTemp shows it’s running at 60°C. What’s going on? Updated July 6, 2020 by megabuilder490
Confirm the cooler is correctly installed and check if thermal paste is applied between the cooler and the CPU.
Speccy doesn't work well on AMD systems, opt for hwinfo instead.
