I'm curious to see if anyone, including Linus, has used a Ryzen 2000 on an A520. Since it's not officially supported, but the BIOS is large enough and the download size matches an X570 board, it's likely the Agesa codes would still recognize the 2000 series.
No board supports the 2000 series. To have both 2000 and 5000 series compatibility, choose an x570 or b450 motherboard.

B450 is compatible with first-generation Ryzen processors. Second-generation AMD chips may not function on A520 boards, though it could work similarly to some 2000-series CPUs on certain B550 boards—still there’s a risk of unexpected problems like non-functional Ethernet ports. It's also worth noting that using an A520 board isn't practical; you’d pay an extra $8–10 for a better AM4 motherboard that fully backs up all AM4 CPUs, offers overclocking support, and has improved VRM design.
