Ryzen 1600 paired with ASUS B350 Plus and G.Skill 8GB RAM
Hi guys!
I just finished setting up my new Ryzen build and am having trouble getting the RAM to run above 2133 MHz with the G.Skill F4-3000C15S-8GVRB. I attempted to adjust the frequency in BIOS using DOCP, but the system won't boot at that speed. I'm using the newest BIOS and chipset drivers. Should I change the timings and voltage? Any advice would be great!
Kasper Jorgensen confirms the settings should match the sticker on the ram, which typically requires 1.35v. He questions whether the sticker automatically applies the correct timing and voltage.
By default it operates at 2133mhz and 1.2v, which aligns with the DDR4 standard.
Kasper Jorgensen explains that by default the system runs at 2133mhz and 1.2v, which matches the DDR4 standard. He mentions an option in the motherboard to use a DOCP profile but notes it doesn't boot properly. He asks if adjusting the CPU voltage is necessary.
Manually set the configurations on a Ryzen machine since the xmp profiles don't consistently function with a Ryzen motherboard.
