All was fine with the Biostar. At MSI, I saw a lot of things I had never encountered before. Everything functioned properly.

could it be that the msi board is faulty? i used a a 350 gaming plus and it worked perfectly.

I think purchasing from a brand you haven't bought from before is usually not a good idea. Just tried an MSI product for the first time and it didn't work as expected. My SSD unplugged and turned on, but there was no boot screen and my monitor lit up.

The SSD works after unplugging the SSD, so you might have tried a different SATA cable from the board. If you have access to the manufacturer, testing it could help identify the issue.

I took out the SSD and it didn't function. After reinserting the SSD and removing the HDD, it worked. Now I'm going to test various cables for the HDD.

Changed the cables and everything is functioning properly now. I'm also using @3.8ghz.
