RX 6800 XT operating on PCIe 3.0x16 connections Speed issue persists
I recently installed a new PC and noticed the PCIe connection speed lists as 3.0x16 instead of the expected 4.0x16. I checked the BIOS settings and set the slot to 4.0 manually, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I also cleaned the contacts and repositioned the GPU firmly to guarantee a solid connection. All drivers are current, and Windows is up to date. The Power Plan is set to high performance. I’ve attached a screenshot of my system configuration for reference. I’m using a SSUPD Meshlicious cabinet with a 4.0 riser cable.
I haven't noticed any performance drops. From what I understand, RX 6000 series cards function well with PCIe 3.0 and don't overwhelm the available bandwidth. I also questioned whether the problem lies with GPU-Z; I verified through the BIOS system info as well as AMD Adrenaline, both showing consistent results. The GPU is running at 3.0x16 speeds, yet it claims 4.0x16 are achievable with it.
