Hello, I own an RX 6600 XT and have faced some issues for roughly four months. The problem starts when I begin the games Sea of Thieves, Sea of Thieves insider, Titanfall2, Sons of the Forest or Planet Crafter. Everything functions properly at first, but after about 20 minutes my GPU starts to fail, frames drop to 15-20, power consumption drops significantly, and even the fans stop spinning because it’s too cold. In Task Manager it only shows 30% usage. After switching tabs away from the game for 15 seconds, things work again temporarily—lasting 5 minutes max—but then it worsens. Switching tabs again, even for a short time, helps only briefly. I had to restart my PC just to get back to normal frame rates. This happened around 1.5 to 2 months ago after installing a new driver update. When I reinstalled the old driver it didn’t fix it, I tried a DDU wipe but it failed. I gave up. I’ve watched over 30 tutorials, performed multiple DDU wipes, and even reset the whole system, but the issue persists. I’m 95% confident it’s not a hardware problem since similar games run well on my system (GOD OF WAR, RDR2, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, CS:GO). Specs: GPU XFX RX 6600 XT, CPU i5 10400F, 750W power, 16GB RAM (2x8), Windows 11 (also had issues on Windows 10). Motherboard: B460-F.
