RX 580 + i5 6400 is stuttering!
I am experiencing constant stuttering and micro-stutters in games like Assassin’s Creed Unity, GTA V, and WWE 2K19. Turning V-Sync on seems to be a workaround, but not a solid fix. I usually run my games at full settings with FXAA or MSAA +2, and the stutters are making my gaming experience really bad. I am running the latest AMD Adrenalin 2019 driver.
Freesync should work fine via HDMI as well. The RX 580 has an HDMI 2.0 port on it which should handle anything it can put out. I'm running my screen which is 3440x1440 with Freesync and 100hz over HDMI with full functionality. Before you go spend any money how about you run some telemetry for us, MSI afterburner has built in performance monitoring and can show you if your processor is an issue. Review what your CPU and GPU useage is when its "stuttering"
You are connecting the GPU to the monitor via DisplayPort, and that resolved your issues.

I do not have a DisplayPort cable so I'm connecting my GPU to my monitor via HDMI. Do you think a DisplayPort can’r will fix it? Your answer gave me hope because my monitor supports Freesync through DisplayPort and that’s a plus!

I think what you are seeing is microstutter and it happens in many games at high fps rates even on high refresh rate monitors. Its why Freesync and Gsync are so useful. Some games it makes a huge difference. In my system For Honor is microstuttery mess with Freesync off, but with it on its smooth as butter. In contrast Hitman actually seems to run better with it off. Its part of the game of PC Gaming, each game behaves a little different and may need some tweaks.
Hey Rogue Leader, I will definitely try that Freesync trick once I get a DisplayPort cable because my monitor only supports Freesync via DisplayPort, not HDMI. Thanks for the tip tho!

Ok cool, try it out and let us know. I think you’ll find Freesync will clear your issue.
