They haven't been a German company for 15 years.
Many people rely on them mainly because they are inexpensive, not because they are high-quality.
An 80 plus rating reflects efficiency rather than excellence.

Confirmed - from the link in my profile, Chieftec appears in the list.

However, you need a certain standard to reach an 80+ Bronze efficiency certification. I completely understand that Chieftec isn't seen as a top-tier PSU, but there are definitely some positive aspects here. The 80+ Bronze rating, the full 50A/600W on the single +12V rail, and the 600W capacity are all significant in terms of power output.

There might be some connection, but the garbage can deserves a Bronze rating. Still, the absence of a review is unacceptable. Unless the particular PSU or the specific platform has a valid review, it won't work. Since safety gear must be reliable, PSUs should be held accountable until proven otherwise.

Not really. For instance, Raidmax offers a few gold-rated units that aren't worth much. Just send a "golden sample" for testing.

Raidmax is well-known for its deceptive practices, particularly the bait-and-switch scenario. I think I remember it occurring with a Chieftec product, though I can't locate the connection anymore.
