Since Battlefield 1 thrives on cores and threads, your i5 has just four cores. i7 models offer four cores plus eight threads, which adds an extra advantage.

What options do we have? Most titles are built for High settings on powerful machines, and pushing to Ultra or maximum isn't guaranteed to work everywhere—it's mainly for advanced players or those wanting to revisit the game later.

There’s nothing to fix, right?

Games are becoming increasingly challenging for CPUs, which is why many still suggest using i5 processors paired with GTX 1070 graphics cards. I find it confusing for two main reasons: first, GPUs often don’t fully utilize their potential, and second, once the CPU hits its limits, upgrading the GPU becomes closely linked to a CPU upgrade, making it less efficient. Ideally, CPUs should last between two to three GPU generations.

Disable all unnecessary background processes and keep BF1 running only. This will free up more CPU resources for the game.

But this occurs even when using low settings! It means low frame rate and often dropping frames.

It seems quite odd. The hardware appears to be functioning more effectively now. This likely indicates a fix is possible without cost—it might be related to a software problem, such as a driver.

I've got the newest AMD drivers (16.12.2 WHQL), but I thought version 17 was out and there were problems with the Vulkan API, so I haven’t updated yet. It isn’t even WHQL.
