He played Rust last night and joined a server. After roughly 30 seconds, his ping spiked dramatically and the game became unresponsive. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issue? Thanks.

It appears the problem might be with the server itself. Could you confirm if it was a community or modded server? Check the server list for the exact ping value shown.

we tested various servers but nothing changed; we were stuck in battle royale, Rust official, and modded environments, and it remained consistent.

I don't believe it was on the server since there were six of us and he was the only one with a high ping.

your partner might be dealing with some issues at home like faulty wiring, weak wifi, or an ISP problem. It could also be someone else in the building who’s downloading large files, leading to the internet service being affected.

Because his sibling hangs out with us and they’re all connected online without issues, while my partner only experiences slowdowns when using Rust and other programs.
