You haven't set up any antivirus program on your PC. I see Windows Defender has been behaving oddly recently, possibly due to a scheduled scan or another issue.
it relies heavily on memory and processing power due to all the additional software bundled in it, so i recommend linux or windows 98 for older systems. a solid linux option is linux mint. could you share your computer specifications? if it's an lga 775 model, you might be able to repair it using bsel or setfsb; for an 1156 model, simply install an x3440 4-core 8-thread xeon processor, similar to an i7 equivalent.
32 bit systems require fewer resources to operate efficiently.
They have only four gigabytes of memory, and since 32-bit operating systems are no longer available, today only 64-bit ones exist. Although 32-bit applications still run on 64-bit systems for backward compatibility, 32-bit programs can't run on 64-bit ones due to the four GB RAM restriction.
