I’m checking if this setup will work for streaming. Your laptop has an Intel i3 115G4 with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, plus 200MB Wi-Fi and a fiber connection. You mentioned using a capture card, but you’re concerned about performance since your main PC runs a higher-end system (RX 6600 XT, Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB RAM). Since you have a strong main machine, streaming should be fine even with the lower specs of your laptop. Just confirm your internet speed and consider upgrading if needed.
streaming shouldn't significantly affect this PC at all. A capture card would allow you to stream from your PC as well, reducing any disruption. With your laptop... does it have video? How do you intend to configure this setup exactly? I believe the main issue is likely your streaming settings, but a capture card (for your PC) should definitely assist.
In my understanding, there isn’t a straightforward method to broadcast the signal from your PC to your laptop without using a capture card. The only PCIe options are the m.2 slots, which would require opening the laptop and performing some complex tasks. I’m unsure if USB-C or Thunderbolt can handle PCIe passthrough either. An i3 processor likely wouldn’t be sufficient for smooth streaming, especially with edited content.
